Bone Manaia and Hei Matau Pendant – Strength, Protection & Prosperity (013)
This beautifully hand-carved bone pendant combines two powerful Māori symbols — the Manaia, a spiritual guardian, and the Hei Matau (fish hook), which represents strength, abundance, and safe travel over water. Together, they create a taonga (treasure) that offers both protection and guidance on life’s journey.
The Manaia, often portrayed with the head of a bird, the body of a man, and the tail of a fish, is said to protect the wearer from negative energies, while the hook connects us to Tangaroa, god of the sea, symbolizing respect, resilience, and the importance of provision.
Crafted from natural bone, each pendant is unique in tone and texture and slight variations will occur.
