Bone Double Manaia Pendant XL

This beautiful hand-carved pendant is a large statement piece that has been crafted from genuine beef bone. The carving depicts two Manaia's, a traditional Māori symbol, which is believed to protect the wearer from evil and bring good luck, a guardian. 

This carving is supplied on a braided cord with slip knots so that you can adjust the height at which it hangs. Each piece is individually carved so slight variations can occur.

Manaia Meaning

The Manaia is also believed to be a messenger that moves freely between the spirit realm and the human world. This mythological creature, is greatly respected in Māori culture and is a predominant motif in bone, wood and greenstone carvings.
